A big thank you to everyone who made it to last nights meeting and helped with the track setup. 25 drivers filled the heats making it a great atmosphere in the pits and some very close racing on track.
We'd also like to add another thank you to the great response we've had to our new championship. It was great to see so many drivers turn up supporting the rules. 4 out of the 5 A final cars were Clubman-E legal with the slower 27t motor. It clearly shows power isn't everything at Eckington. We also had a good turn from the other classes (GT12 & MINI's) adding more variety to the night.

The Clubman 2 championship had a strong start with 12 cars entering round one. In the early qualifying round it was reigning champ Steve Baggley setting the pace with his TT01. Luke Wainwright and Phil Roberts were best of the rest and looking fast over single laps, but just not as consistent. The pits were also filled with drama with Dave Hanson suffered an electronics failure which put him on a back foot. By the end of qualifying no one had managed to topple Baggley from the top but the times were very close promising a good A final. Baggley, Wainwright, Hanson and Roberts would be the drivers fighting for victory.
The A Final was full of action in the midfield, Wainwright got a great start in second but appeared to be suffering lack of grip. This left him defending hard from the chasing pack. Roberts was looking clean and consistent but it was Hanson who was setting the times alight. While the trio battled for second place this left Baggley to pull away at the front for the victory. Wainwright managed to find some pace at the end of the final to secure second while Hanson finish in 3rd but with fastest lap bragging rights.
