The RC Racing Europe GP will be a full Sunday event at the Sheffield RC Racing venue. The format will include warmup/seeding rounds, followed by 3 rounds of qualifying and 2 finals. It will be an action packed days racing with some awesome prizes supplied by RC Racing Europe. The Sheffield RC Racing club have a lot of experience with great indoor events, so with the additional support of RC Racing Europe this will be something special.

Classes for the meeting will be TC 13.5 BLINKY, GT12 and Tamiya Racing Trucks (STOCK). The TC Class will be run on a Control tyre (Purchased on the day) and the Tamiya Trucks will have a control motor. Trophies and raffle prizes will also be available on the day.This will be the perfect build up event for Christmas and the winter nationals.

Your entry fee will need to be paid for in full before the event.

TC 13.5 BLINKY Entry (40 entries)

Race entry for the day will be £10 payable via PayPal. This is a control tyre class which you will need to purchase directly from RC Racing Europe. You can buy this on the day or via their website (but you will not receive it until race day). After booking in you will recieve a discount code to use on the RC Racing Europe webiste if you want to pre-pay for your tyres. Every driver will only be allowed to race one set of tyres for the whole meeting (Unless a set is faulty).

GT12 Entry (30 entries)

Race entry for the day will be £10 payable via PayPal when you book in on the Sheffield RC Racing website.

Tamiya STOCK Racing Trucks (10 entries)

Race entry for the day will be £15 payable via PayPal when you book in on the Sheffield RC Racing website. This price is more because it will include the hire of a handout motor from the club.

 

Timetable & Race Format

8AM – Doors open, motor fitting

8:45AM – Driver briefing

9AM – Seeding / warm rounds

This will be 2x 4 min runs for each class. For TC and GT12 this will be seeding to determine which heat you qualify in and will be decided by your best 3 consecutive laps. For the Tamiya Racing Trucks these will essentially be practise rounds but all determine where you start in the first qualifying round.

10:30AM – Qualifying Rounds
The qualifying rounds will be 3x class specific runs. TC & Trucks will be 5mins long and GT12 will be 6mins. Positions for the finals will be decided on a point based system and it will be the best 2 of 3 rounds that count. For racers who score equal points the position will be decided by the racer who recorded a faster run time.
10:45AM – RC Racing Europe Raffle

2PM – Finals
The finals will be 2x class specific races. These will also be point based so you will do well in both of them to be successful.

4PM – Trophy Presentations

Scrutineering

Before your car can be placed on the track you will need to get it check through scrutineering. This will take place before every run, you will need to be track side the session before yours is about the start.

The team will check your car to make sure it complies with the class rules. You will then be allowed to wait next to the rostrum where you can wipe any excess additive off your tyres before your session.
After you have passed scrutineering your car will not be allowed to go back to your pit table.

Lap timing

Laps in both Qualifying and the Final will be counted by a RC3 timing system.

Tamiya Racing Truck Specific rules

  • TT01e Tamiya Racing Truck
  • Permitted Chassis Upgrades
    • Ball bearings
    • Alloy prop shaft
    • Additional chassis weights
    • Chassis tub modification for hard case LiPo
    • Sealed oil filled dampeners
  • Strictly Forbidden Chassis Upgrades
    • No alloy part upgrades (Wishbones, drive shafts, etc)
  • Handout motor
  • 2S Hard Case LiPo or 6 cell NiCD/Nihm batteries
  • Standard spur, fixed pinion of 19t
  • ESC in Blinky only
  • Tyres must be Must be part No. 51589. Inserts are allowed
  • Tamiya TBLE-02 or Hobbywing 1060 only
  • The ESC needs to have reverse option disabled
  • After market body shells are allowed.
  • The cab must be to the standard height. Cut/lowered cabs will not be allowed to race.
  • Maximum RTR Weight : 1800g
  • Minimum ride height: 5mm

Misc Rules

  • All racers must have a valid BRCA license to ensure they have sufficient race insurance.
  • All racers must bring a pit towel to protect the venues tables.
  • All batteries are to be charged in a lipo safe charging bag and the charging output must not exceed 10amps.

Racing Rules

  • Once a race/session has started you cannot leave the rostrum
  • Aggressive, threatening or abusive language on the rostrum is strictly forbidden
  • If you are being lapped by a faster car you must move off the racing line to allow them past
  • No aggressive or over defensive racing is allowed
  • Reversing on track is strictly forbidden
  • During a final - While overtaking another car, if you cause the racer to crash or lose time from an unfair move then you must return that position back to the racer
